Communications Executive


We’re looking for a talented, enthusiastic and creative communications executive to join our small team of specialists in Gloucester to create engaging communications for our clients, including BP, Clarks, Jaguar Land Rover and Glow-Worm.

  • Strong copywriting and content development skills (offline and online)

  • The ability to absorb the written and visual tone of different brands

  • Strong attention to detail, even when working under pressure

  • An aptitude for coming up with creative ideas to enhance the programmes we run

  • The ability to prioritise, multi-task and manage time effectively

  • Experience of creating and delivering communications strategies and content plans

And any of these would be a bonus

  • Experience of working with creative design agencies / web designers

  • Experience of working with content management systems

  • An understanding of and interest in employee engagement

  • Experience using campaign monitor or other email marketing systems

A typical day at River might include

  • Creating on-brand content for ongoing digital communications

  • Briefing and liaising with internal teams and external suppliers to produce on-brand content

  • Coming up with ideas for and producing ongoing client communications plans

  • Creating and building client emails, newsletters and web articles

  • Creating associated social media campaigns

  • Copy editing and reviewing

  • Scheduling, managing and keeping track of client comms’ plans
